Vaccination against the HPV virus

The Human Papillomavirus (HPV virus) is a virus that is highly contagious and is usually transmitted through sex. It can cause various forms of cancer. In the Netherlands, boys and girls receive an invitation to be vaccinated against the HPV virus in the year they turn 10. Young people up to age 26 will also receive an invitation to be vaccinated against HPV free of charge in 2023. If you are older than 26, you can also get vaccinated, but you will have to pay for the vaccinations yourself.

More information about the HPV vaccination is in theBrochure HPV Vaccination.pdf and on the National Vaccination Program website.
